To mark her last leadership day<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the highs and the lows<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ayes and the No’s<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s some things we’d like to replay\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The most dutiful woman you\u2019d meet<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tenacious, determined, discrete<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But given the chance<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\u2019d bust out a dance<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And skip along meadows of wheat<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

A Tory for 40 long years<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She gave it her blood, sweat and tears<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From suburban MP<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To Home Secretary<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s sure been one heck of careers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Yes up and up she did climb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soon dealing with migrants and crime<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Cameron\u2019s Blues<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Were starting to lose<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And felt they were on borrowed time<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

With UKIP hot on their trail<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And posts in the darn Daily Mail<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An EU decoy<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was Cameron\u2019s ploy<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But oh how that tactic did fail<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

They all found it hard to believe<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That people had chosen to leave<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh what a mess<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So many said yes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And David was given the heave<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

So up stepped poor Mrs May<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a difficult hand left to play<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A bunch of miffed peers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some staunch Brexiteers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A challenge in every which way<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

So when conference day did arrive<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We thought she’d not get out alive<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That dry scratchy cough<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sign that fell off<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not to mention the P45<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

But \u2018Brexit means Brexit\u2019 she said<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her lines they were drawn out in red<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her \u2018strong stable lead\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A challenge indeed<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There sure was big trouble ahead<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

With Junker and Tusk at the top<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She thought up the Irish Backstop<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But beaten down thrice<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It can\u2019t have been nice<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To see that her bill was a flop<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Now Boris and Co join the game<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking for Hard-Brexit fame<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will flexing their muscles<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beat those in Brussels<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or will they find more of the same?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Well whoever the next person in<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She’ll watch with a wry knowing grin<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take up her back seat<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Put up those sore feet<\/p>\n\n\n\n
